we wish cora were here to tell you…

Obviously, this is not a secret anymore! We wanted to share with all of you our exciting news. We are so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with another child. We can’t wait for our house to be filled with that joy again.
But this announcement comes with so many mixed emotions as it is hard to imagine adding another child to our family without Cora here with us.  She would have been such a good big sister!
We are so thankful for all of our faithful prayer warriors out there! Please continue to pray along with us for a healthy baby Mac. What a miracle this new little life is!

It makes me sad that I came across your blog out of tragedy, but I’ve learned so much in a short time. Strength comes from many places and I feel all our strength comes straight from God. Through this you have showed incredible strength….in a difficult time you choice to cling to God. Even though it didn’t make sense what happened, you and your dh continued to believe. I believe God is the only way to get through a difficult time. So….in all that rambling…..I want to tell you how have happy I am for you! God will bless you for your faithfulness.

  • Anonymous - To the Macs…

I have never posted a comment but I have been following your journey for months. I began reading your blog at that time that your sweet Cora had been diagnosed…a friend of mine told me about her. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you and your family. You have touched my life in a way that you will never know.
Last year, two of my very good friends lost their sweet babies about 5 weeks after I had my son. It was life altering for me as I watched them experience such terrible pain. I began to look at life in such a different light and realize that the small things are most important.
I told them about Cora and how strong and open you are about this journey and it helped them. Although it’s so hard and you will always ask God…why? Cora was here for a reason and even though she is now gone, she continues to help others.
I am so thrilled to hear your news about this new baby. I will continue to pray for you and can’t wait to read about this exciting time!!! I hold you in my prayers.ReplyCancel

  • Al's World - Oh my goodness!!! I am so excited for you.

Personally, I believe that babies bodies are formed in our womb, but when we are born our spirits enter our bodies (i hope that doesn’t sound too new age, it was not intended that way). So Cora has seen her baby brother/sister, has played with them and is probably telling him/her what AWESOME parents you are and how much fun he/she are going to have with you.
I know that this is with mixed emotions, but I am praying that what God has intended for rejoicing will be brought to that and that Satan will not allow any saddness to you or your husband…take care and will be praying for you all!ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - My beautiful little daughter Erin, went home at ten and a half months from a heart condition on 1st December 2005. Her little brother was born in September 06. One book I read suggest that greiving and bonding don’t mix and to wait at least a year before trying for another child. I can assure you – it is possible to feel two completing different emotions at the same time. My grief is still real and still there but my joy and love and adoration for my son has no bounds. May your pregnancy, birth and life with this addtional child bring you much joy.ReplyCancel

  • Laura Ann - Congratulations…I am so excited for all of you. What an amazing blessing and miracle. My heart is filled with joy.

I have read your blog from the beginning of time and have prayed for you.

I have a cousin that lost their 2 year old son in a drowning accident a couple years back. As you are all too familiar with it was the worse pain ever. They now have an 8 month old beautiful little girl and life has taken on a new meaning for them.

They had all the same feelings you expressed in yoru post, but they continue to work through it daily.

God is good and he has carried them as he continues to carry you.

I am so happy for you and your hubby. To God be the Glory!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • jen christians - I am writing this from the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park CO. It’s so beautiful here. Abundant with God’s works. Today we walked down to a little park, where believe it or not, they had several pieces of “Cora’s Playground” equipment. I watched my children play on it and as I sat there I thought of you guys and how much joy could be in your hearts if only you were blessed with another child. As I saw how much joy Cora brought you. I prayed for you guys. Then I came back to read this message. While I know your prayer was already answered, it just reminded me how great our God is. Life is a miracle. I will keep praying for you and pray for a healthy baby Mac. I can’t wait to read the updates. And by the way if you have never been to the YMCA of the ROckies… it’s amazing!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Jamie - Congratulations to all of you!! I am sure Cora will keep a watchful eye on her little sister or brother.
