levi’s room {a tour}

I am finally done with Levi’s room. It was definitely a slow process. Levi’s room used to belong to his big sister, Cora. I didn’t change anything in Cora’s room until after Levi was born and it became his room. It was just too hard. But, now his room is filled with blue and green and tractors and trucks and cows…definitely not girly anymore. Of course I had to leave a few reminders of Cora…we love telling Levi all about his big sissy.

So, here it is. Levi’s room.

The first thing you see when you walk in Levi’s room is my sarah + abraham silhouette print. It was a sweet gift and I love it. A reminder of my two (soon to be three!) blessings.
The green quilt and star pillow were part of Cora’s crib bedding. I love how it looks in Levi’s room too.
The tree was painted by me using an overhead projector.
We saved a set of blocks from the Cora’s Playground fundraiser. A picture of Levi’s sissy sits by his rocking chair. Sometimes when we are playing in his room he will carry her picture around and babble. I don’t know what he is saying, but I love it.
I had to incorporate Levi’s love for cows in his room too.
The chicken wire frame was inspired by Ashley. She has the best DIY projects. It hold pictures, Levi’s birth announcement and first birthday invitation, a postcard from Levi’s uncle who lives in China, and the verse that we chose for Levi when he was born.
And for those who are wondering…

Now it is time to get started on a room for Levi’s baby brother. We have three bedrooms in our house…our room, Levi’s room and a guest/craft/junk room. Originally I was thinking that if this baby was a boy I would move Levi into the guest room and leave Levi’s room as it is for Baby Brother. But, Levi loves his room…and it is already becoming so personal to him. So, we may just leave Levi in his room and make the guest/craft/junk room into a guest room/nursery. Either way, I can’t wait to get started!!

Don’t forget that the sarah + abraham Olliegraphic pillow giveaway ends tonight. To enter, leave a comment on the sarah + abraham giveaway post.

Now, I just need to figure out how to organize the closet on a budget. Any tips would be great! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Mommy to Two - Did you build his bookshelf onto the wall?

I just wanted to say, too, that your posts are so encouraging and inspiring to me. somehow it seems easier to comment on a post about home decorating than it does when a post strikes a chord deep in my heart… wish it wasn’t so. but your heart and faith are so beautiful… as well as your decorating… and thanks for sharing 🙂ReplyCancel

I love how Levi is learning about his big sister in little ways each day.

You may find that when baby is a little older Levi might enjoy sharing a room with his brother. Our children all share bedrooms and they love it and all said would be lonely without their siblings at night. Seems to help them sleep better too.

Have fun decorating the next room!ReplyCancel

  • Diane - Hi, just love Levi’s room especially the pic of Cora. I am thinking of painting Carrington beige in my 16×24 great room. I have 2 medium brown sofas and my drapes are a tone on tone tan with a golden hue. Does the color give off any yellow tone or any other tone. I have Monroe bisque on my walls now and it’s tan with a lot of yellow in it. Although a love yellow I don’t want yellow. Please let me know about Carrington. Thank you.ReplyCancel

    Jess Reply:

Diane-It doesn’t look yellow, but definitely creamy. Hope that helps!
