cora’s joyful life

Today is my baby girl’s birthday.

She would have turned FIVE today.

Five on the fifth.

Her GOLDEN birthday.

Cora’s life was short, but her days with us were PURPOSEFUL and filled with so much JOY.

Today, I will most likely be shedding many tears because I miss my baby girl like crazy.

But along with the tears I want to CELEBRATE because the day I became a mama is definitely a day worth celebrating!

My baby girl changed me (actually, God changed me through her!).

So, let’s celebrate BIG!

Let’s be a BLESSING to others.

Will you join me in celebrating Cora’s JOYFUL life?

In honor of Cora’s fifth birthday…

We are teaming up with Heather and The Joyful Life Library and are so excited to announce that the newest library hosted by The Joyful Life Library is opening at Wesley Medical Center on the PEDS/PICU floor where Cora spent her days battling cancer. We were so thankful for the care that Cora received at Wesley and are honored to have this opportunity to help bless and comfort other families whose lives have been turned upside down because of critical illness. I love Heather’s heart and the mission behind The Joyful Life Library:

This is a simple project. It is not an actual library or room, but simply a bookshelf that we will fill with books that will be made available to hurting families. We were one of those families. I am forever grateful for the many people who went out of their way to come alongside and bless us in simple but comforting ways. They were a shining light of God’s love to us during a very dark time. We want to use Cora’s birthday to be a blessing to others in a similar way.

Here is where I need your help. Would you consider donating a book to The Joyful Life Library?

To make a donation click DONATE on The Joyful Life Library homepage. Then go to the bottom of the wishlists and click on Wesley Medical Center. The donate page explains how the donation process works, what kind of books are on the wish list, and how they will be sent to the hospital.

The Joyful Life Library is currently hosting libraries at 10 children’s hospitals across the country. If Wesley’s library gets filled, we would love it if you would consider donating to one of the other hospitals too. How great would it be if we could flood these libraries with books?! Let’s do it!!

And I couldn’t celebrate Cora’s birthday without a few gifts.

How about some gifts for you?

I have some amazingly talented and generous friends who are teaming up with me in this project too!

Thank you, sweet friends.

For every book donated to any of the 10 Joyful Life Libraries you can enter to win ONE of these FABULOUS gifts:
