prepare, rejoice, adore :: the paperie giveaway

As I prepared and prayed about what I shared with you last week, I started realizing that I have a lot of work to do on my own heart. I can see myself easily getting busy and preoccupied with Christmas activities again this year and pushing out my time with God. I needed to recommit to prepare my heart as Christmas approaches so that I can help point my kids to Jesus and love those around me well. And you know what? Last week proved to be one of those busy weeks where I had to fight and be disciplined to stay in the Word. I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and I thought how in the world can I write about these things when I’m struggling to live them out myself?! So, I just wanted you to know that. I am not perfect. I fail. I struggle with all the same things that can pull us away from keeping Christ at the center of Christmas as you do. I am not an expert and I definitely do not celebrate Christmas perfectly myself. I am so thankful that God gives me grace and fills in the gaps from my insufficiency.

I emailed Heather and asked her if she would have time to create some printables that went along with the Christmas carols I shared last week. Of course, she went above and beyond and created two sets of printables. I love them SO much! We were able to give one of these to each mom that came to our “Surviving the Holidays with Grace” session which was fun! Our hope was that the ladies would take one of these prints home and tape or clip it up to remind them of the things God was asking them to do to make Christmas more about Him this year. I had decided to hang up “let every heart prepare Him room”. I thought this was the one the Lord was nudging me on this year. But then today I was feeling some weariness and thought maybe I should hang up “a thrill of hope the weary world rejoices” instead. I probably just need to hang up all three, right?!

Heather is selling these prints and other fun Christmas printables in her shop. She is the sweetest and offered to give away some of these print sets to my readers! Yay! The great thing about these prints is that they are an instant download. Once you purchase (or win!) a print or a print set you instantly download them to your computer. Then, you can print them at home or have them printed at a print shop.

Heather also designed these matching gift tags. They are an instant download also and included in the giveaway!

  • Kristina - I think the print “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room” would be a good reminder to me during the Christmas season!ReplyCancel

  • Jennifer - I could use the, “Gracious words are a honeycomb..” reminder! Love the Christmas printables. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Kate - I surely could use the reminder of SO many of these! My heart feels weary, so I appreciate your encouragement at this point (mid-November) to START preparing my own heart for the Advent season and true celebration with my children and family. Would love “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room” and “The Weary World Rejoices!” These are beautiful. Thanks for the giveaways but more importantly for the encouragement!!!ReplyCancel

  • Mindy - I love the reminder of “Let every heart prepare him room.” I love these prints!ReplyCancel

  • Janine - I love the “O come let us adore him”. I can hear Bing Crosby singing the carol in my head. It’s one of my favorites. And I know it has nothing to do with Christmas but I really like her “Good Morning Sunshine” Print.ReplyCancel

  • AnnKC - Thrill of Hope is the one that sticks out to me this season as my brother is fighting a second leukemia relapse and we are weary.ReplyCancel

  • Erica - I love these printables, but I have to say tonight I need “the weary world rejoices” and to remember that we are also looking forward to our savior just as Israel was and we can rejoice that he has come and will come again. Such a good thought to meditate upon.ReplyCancel

  • Toni D. :0) - Would love “Oh come let us adore him.” Thanks Jess!!ReplyCancel

  • Anne - A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices. It brings me to tears almost every time I hear it.ReplyCancel

  • Kim York - A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices..speak volumes to me. I am just weary of this world. They all “fit” don’t they. Thanks for you and your continued blogging.

    KimReplyCancel

  • Deb Hintz - A trill of hope the weary world rejoices is my favorite. Love the color choices too!ReplyCancel

  • Lissa - Loved many of these but I think I most love The Weary World Rejoices. Tornadoes hit our town in Indiana yesterday, and though we are so thankful no one was killed or seriously injured…there is much damage to so many. Many people working tirelessly on two schools that were demolished. Many people feeling financial burdens. Love that reminder that this world makes us weary but…no matter how weary, we still rejoice because of Jesus.ReplyCancel

  • Kim York - A trill of hope the weary world rejoices. I am just weary of this world..they are all beautiful reminders. Thank you for you and reminding us what we should be focusing on.

    KimReplyCancel

  • Rachel - I love the “Today will be great” printable in mint. It’s a great reminder that everyday is a gift from God.ReplyCancel

  • Heather L. - They are all quite lovely … I think my fave is “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices” … a reminder that of the hope we have in Christ!

Jess, appreciate your candor and transparency – it is far too easy to get caught up in shopping lists, baking lists, volunteer lists, pinterest land, etc., especially this time of year (I’m guilty of this). Thank you for taking the time to gently remind us about recommiting our hearts to Him.ReplyCancel

  • Jenny - I think I most need Joy to the World The Lord has Come hanging in my house to remind me that Jesus is the reason for the season and that He is what brings us pure joy. Beautiful printables! Beautiful blog!ReplyCancel

  • Jenny - My weary mama self can’t read! I just figured out Joy to the World may just be a gift tag. Next favorite would be Oh Come Let Us Adore Him. Not fancy parties or lavish gifts…Him!ReplyCancel

  • annaO - I love the “Let every heart prepare Him room”.ReplyCancel

  • Jessie - Definitely o come let us adore Him! (Now that I know the meaning of adore from your last post:) )
    JessieReplyCancel

  • katherine - love the “let every heart” print. thanks for this series, jess!ReplyCancel

  • Jessica - I’m with you, I need the ‘Let every heart prepare Him room’ as a reminder in my home! I need to make room in my heart and my day for Him everyday! It should be my first priority.ReplyCancel

  • Alisha M. - I love the “the thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices” print. It’s been that kind of year for my husband and I and I know I need this as a constant reminder that God is faithful!ReplyCancel

  • Lia - I like the “thrill of hope” printable! So awesome!ReplyCancel

  • Meggie - I love them all! I think I’d enjoy “Joy to the World The Lord is Come” best. I love this time of year so much and am filled with joy as I see the excitement and wonder on the faces of my boys… but we always need that reminder that our joy should be based on the Gift of Christmas, Jesus Himself.ReplyCancel

  • Amy Kitchens - “the thrill of hope let the weary world rejoice” Prefect for what is going on in my life right now. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Tessa - I could definitely use the reminder. I am struggling with how to celebrate Christmas with my family and how should Christmas look for us? It’s something I am spending a great deal of time praying over. I need the reminder of let every heart prepare him room as well as a thrill of hope a weary world rejoices.ReplyCancel

  • Haley F - I love the “Let Every Heart” print!ReplyCancel

  • Rebecca - “A thrill of hope, The weary world rejoices”. My beloved Daddy passed away this year, and this time of year is already proving to be extremely dificult. As we prepare for our first Thanksgiving and Christmas without him, and I get weary in my grief, I am leaning heavily on the hope of our Savior. O Holy Night is also my favorite Christmas carol. It has a new meaning to me this year.ReplyCancel

  • Leanne - I could use all 3! But the one that speaks to me this year is ‘Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room’. Christmas often passes by without preparing our hearts at all…then it’s gone. This is what I/my family needs. I enjoy your blog very much!ReplyCancel

  • Kim - So much truth that could be used as a reminder in those fabulously adorable signs. It was so hard to choose…the “Be Still and Know” sign or the “Let your Gentleness be evident to all” sign or the “Gracious Words…” sign could all speak so much truth into my busy-minded, fast-footed mom head of mine. But, I guess what would be the most relevant during the Christmas season would be the “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room” one. It would be a great reminder for our whole family, and I would hang it above where we put our Advent activities (a tradition we started a few years ago) we do all of the days in December leading up to Christmas. So many times during the Christmas season, we are caught up in the hustle and bustle and our Advent activities as busy as they can be too sometimes is a good reminder to bring us back to a spot to prepare room in our hearts and minds for the One we are celebrating at Christmas-Jesus! Thanks for all that you do and for the giveaway too!ReplyCancel

  • danielel - I’d totally hang the Every Heart Prepare Him Room one too! God should just save himself some time and speak to you and I simultaneously on this topic because I’m hearing the same thing this year, and I too have already needed to be reminded of it! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • dana - I love the glorious day print! I need that reminder for each day! And I love all the Christmas printables but “O Come Let Us Adore Him” puts all the focus right on Christ. Thanks for your series of posts last week…I shared them with many of my friends who were greatly encouraged.ReplyCancel

  • Carley M - I can’t decide between “Let every heart prepare him room” or “o come let us adore him.” Both reminders that I desperately need this Christmas season.ReplyCancel

  • Debbie - I love the gold “today will be a great day” print. Some mornings I need to chant this to myself over and over again 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Krista - I love any & all of the printables!!ReplyCancel

  • Tracy Jake - I love them all, but there is something about “The weary world rejoices” one that tugs my heart strings. We are so weary while here on earth and must cling to the hope that our Savior brings!ReplyCancel

  • Shelley - I love “Let every heart prepare Him room.”ReplyCancel

  • Ellis - I love “A Thrill of Hope, the Weary World Rejoices”… it makes me sing O Holy Night in my head. Love, love, love. Thank you for the giveaway!ReplyCancel

  • Caley - I could use the “Be still and know” one. But there are many that would be very needed reminders every day.ReplyCancel

  • Ann Cantrell - I love love love everything!!! Every year we try to help our granddaughter worship Jesus at Christmas, not just focus on presents. Claire will be 4, Feb 2, so she is a month younger than Levi and so impressionable. She loves Jesus and our Christmas celebrations would be even more special with these printables.ReplyCancel

  • Heather - ” Gracious words are like a honeycomb” one would be a fabulous reminder on our home. Hard to choose because they’re all so good!ReplyCancel

  • Sue Jones - I love the print “Oh Come Let Us Adore Him” In my heart I need to learn to truly “ADORE” Christ. In the busyness of life it is so easy to take for granted the love of Jesus. I try not to but I know i fail many times.ReplyCancel

  • Elise Gahan - I love the “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices” printables because it has two great promises of Christ’s purpose on earth and I need to remember to rejoice in what He did for me more regularly.ReplyCancel

  • Georgie McAbee - I love the “prepare Him room” and “Hope”. I would have a hard time choosing! Love them!ReplyCancel

  • jen papoccia - Love the ‘o come let us adore him’ saying….a perfect reminder of the center of the holidayReplyCancel
