17 weeks

I thought I’d give a little pregnancy update today. I had intended on taking photos every couple of weeks starting at 15 weeks…but here we are at 17 weeks and this is the first one. I found this weekly pregnancy photo idea on Pinterest…I even pinned it…but now it is gone and I can’t find it anywhere. So, this is not my original idea…but I thought it would be a fun way to document this pregnancy. Now if only I can actually remember to take the pictures.

This pregnancy has been about the same as my last three. I don’t feel great the first trimester…but not horrible by any means either. I have been a little more tired this time around but I am blaming that on the boys. Haha.

Everyone keeps wondering if we are going to find out the gender again this time. We were surprised with Cora and Levi and we found out the gender with Griffin. I think we are going with a surprise again! Actually if you would ask Joel he would tell you that he is going to find out and I am not. If you know what a tease my husband is you know that is a horrible idea. He would have me so frustrated and confused by the time this baby arrived! I don’t think that would be a good idea for our marriage. So right now we are keeping the gender a surprise (from both of us!) but we still have a few weeks until the big sonogram day arrives.

The boys are very excited about the baby which is fun. Levi has already named the baby Dusty Crophopper if it is a boy and Dottie if it is girl. Can you tell he is all about planes right now!? Griffin has started telling us that he is the baby. I’m letting him soak up these last months of being the baby and praying that he is ready to be the big brother in July!

My official due date is July 27…and other than that I don’t think there is much else to tell! We are so excited about the addition of this new little one to our family and praising God for the gift of life. It is amazing to look back and see the work He has done in our family and where He has brought us over the past five years. We are praying that He prepares our hearts for what He has planned next for our family as it grows.

We didn’t find out with any of our four and it was such an exciting surprise in the delivery room. Can’t wait to hear the news!ReplyCancel

  • Michelle from Australia - What a beautiful update to wake up to this morning. I found out Miss 10-1/2 was a girl. And my husband was adamant he did not want to know. I kept the secret for a week. And then he was teasing me and I blurted it out. Turned out from my facial expressions when I was told the gender he knew anyway so he’d tortured me for a week for no reason! With Master 7, I looked at the screen during the 15 week scan and his gender was blatantly obvious. So no secret there even if we’d wanted a surprise. God Bless you all Jess.ReplyCancel

  • Suzanne Hines - I had to chuckle at the part about Joel finding out and keeping it from you.
I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant (with our 1st), and my husband actually mentioned doing that, but I felt the same way- he would lead me in one direction for MONTHS, then suddenly change the gender and take me another way for the next few MONTHS! Haha! I do have some friends who did that though- the father knows what it is, but the mother just wants to be surprised upon birth!ReplyCancel

  • Kimberly - Love the update!! So happy for you & your family! Being surprised for #4 sounds fun– it would be such a special moment & memory in the delivery room!ReplyCancel
