dandelions + bow ties

IMG_0090new

We had about an hour between church and our Easter family gathering on Sunday. The boys were super cute in their bow ties and we had a beautiful lawn of dandelions blooming. Actually, our lawn was getting totally out of control with dandelions, but I thought they might be pretty for Easter pictures…it’s all about perspective, right?

Levi thought it was a great idea too. He was all about running through the dandelions and spreading more dandelion seeds.

And then we tried to convince Griffin to pose for some brother pictures in the dandelion field and he didn’t think that sounded too fun. IMG_0077new

This is definitely a picture of real life with a two and four year old. IMG_0080new

I don’t know what was so traumatizing about taking pictures with your brother but I’m pretty sure Griffin thought his world was ending. IMG_0082new

So we took a little break. IMG_0089new

And after a few minutes of love from his mama…and some Easter candy bribing…he decided pictures weren’t so bad after all. IMG_0096new

Levi tried to teach Griffin how to blow the dandelion puffs. He tried so hard.

His lips sure looked cute all puckered up…but he couldn’t quite get the blowing part down. IMG_0101new

Oh my goodness…I love these two. IMG_0105new

Still gathering dandelion puffs.

And still trying so hard to blow those seeds.

My dandelion pictures looked like they were going to be a disaster. Sometimes it’s not even worth trying…you just have to let it go and catch them at the right time. But I’m so glad we tried one more time on this day.

These are definitely some of my new favorite pics.

And we finally sprayed our lawn…so no more fields of dandelions. 🙁

The boys’ bow ties are from The Splendid Bow. She has the most adorable bow ties!

  • Karina - You got some amazing photos in the end…But I am so pleased to see the “real life” ones too! And the puckered lips!! I am also a sucker for bow ties on little boys. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Becca - Love your dandelion pictures, saw a cute idea on Pinterest with dandelions. Put the fluffy balls carefully in a mason jar and set it on the kitchen counter. When your little one is sad or just having a moment, make a wish! Take one again carefully out of the jar and they can make a special wish and blow their wish to the wish fairies that live in the cloulds.ReplyCancel

  • Brittany - Love the pictures… and dandelions are my favorite flower (yes I know technically they are a weed but I still find them beautiful)ReplyCancel

  • Kimberly - Love these! Even the “fussy” pictures are adorable!ReplyCancel

  • Michelle from Australia - GORGEOUS pictures. So lovely to see one with all four and a half of The Macs xxReplyCancel

  • Amy - I love these pictures, your boys remind me so much of my own. I have an almost 5 year old and a 3 year old and their personalities are so different, and when it comes to getting pictures I have my hands full. I also have an almost 7 year old daughter and a 6 month old son so when I put all 4 in the mix it gets crazy.ReplyCancel

  • Stefanie - Beautiful pictures! They are so handsome!ReplyCancel

  • Andrea - these are darling!ReplyCancel

  • Mary Ann - Aaadddorabbbble!! They are both so cute. Love the pucker too. Great photos!!ReplyCancel

  • leiah - LOVE the one of the oldest with his shirt in his mouth and the other on the ground!!! I kept laughing and showed my husband. So glad to know we are not the only ones who have meltdowns during photo time. The family photo turned out lovely! I just showed my 3 year old a few weeks ago how to blow dandilions and now every time he sees it he goes to try it. So cute!ReplyCancel
