30 weeks

30 week collage

Last week before I left for California Joel took the last picture in my collage…at 30 weeks. This week marks 31 weeks. Only nine weeks to go and I am feeling like this sweet babe is going to be here before we know it. We are getting so excited to meet him/her. I have done absolutely nothing to prepare. Joel set up new bunk beds for the boys while we have been gone, so the room rearranging can officially start when we get home. Lots to do after we get back tomorrow and lots of changes ahead!

This time around we are having more trouble with girls names than boys names. I guess we must just be in that boy mindset since there are two little boys running around our house. So, I need your help! Nine weeks to go and we need to start narrowing down a few names for this little one. Any suggestions? I would love to hear some of your favorites. Or names (boy & girl) that you think would go with Cora, Levi and Griffin. I’m hoping you can help me out…and maybe we can decide on some names this week!

Oh how I miss it was me getting to name another sweet little one. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you enter the home stretch. Much love!ReplyCancel

  • Tammy Zydonis - When we adopted our little boys 2 summers ago we chose Levi (because we loved why you chose that name and the scripture you chose to pray over him for his life! πŸ™‚ his middle name is Tru… Levi Tru. We also have Daniel Josiah, Kymberlee Ruth Wei and David Gregory. Of course I love all their names! πŸ™‚ Some of their friends names that are so cute are Kemper, Samuel, Kale, Jude for boys and Lucy, Elizabeth (Lizzy), Ruby, Karis for girls. Names are so fun! I know you will pick perfectly and your new baby will grow into it very well. God bless your next 9 weeks, delivery and this next beautiful family adventure!!! <3ReplyCancel

  • Alyssa Duncan - We loved the name Avery for a girl.

I also love Ellie, Everly, Monroe, and I love classic names like Charlotte, Cordelia (Delia), Adelyn (Addie), and one of my favorite bloggers named her daughter Hadassah and calls her Haddie and I just love that.

Congratulations on hitting 31 weeks! I can’t wait to see what you’re having!ReplyCancel

  • Debbie - Marisa Quinn – in my 20’s I wanted a baby girl. And Marisa Quinn was going to be her name. Never had a baby, but I’m still (after all these years) in love with this sweet name. Wishing you and your precious family the very best now and always.

    Blessings – DebbieReplyCancel

  • Lana - Elliott Sloan (boy or girl). If we had a girl, we would call her Elli πŸ™‚ReplyCancel

  • khristy - Sarah Kathryn
    Thomas NeelyReplyCancel

  • Monica - We had a hard time coming up with a name for our third born as well! And it was funny because the girl’s name was much harder to figure out after two boys! The name we finally chose was Annalise which means “blessed by God’s bounty”. Her birth was very quick and my husband had to catch her which makes having a girl and a name with strong meaning that much more special! I don’t hear of too many Annalise’s and we live MILES away in Ontario, so no worries of copy-ing! πŸ˜€ (also there are variations of the spelling!)ReplyCancel

  • Jeannine - We have a Sophie, Ella, Abbie, Levi, and Luke. πŸ™‚ReplyCancel

  • Megan - Such fun comments!!! We have a Laney and if we had another girl we would’ve used Violet. I love, love hearing what pregnant women are naming their babies! I’m sure you won’t share until after the birth but I’m excited to hear!!!ReplyCancel

  • Dawn - Emerson or AmeliaReplyCancel

  • casey w - My kids are Lelah (pronounced Lee-la) and Grant. Both are greatgrandparent names. I also loved Clara and Helen for girls and Henry, Walter and Clifton for boys which are also all family names for us. Theodosia and Medical (crazy right!?) were also from the family tree but somehow didn’t make it to the short list. πŸ™‚ReplyCancel

  • Alicia Wakely - Hi Jess. I’ve been following your blog now for about a year. On March 16 2013, my firstborn daughter, Amelie Grace, was stillborn at 37 weeks gestation. A friend recommended your blog to me, and I found comfort in reading about your Cora. I fell in love with your little girl… I think she’s just beautiful! And so also, I fell in love with her name. 11 months after giving birth to my Amelie, God blessed us with a second daughter, Cora (Joy)- the name I fell in love with because of your sweet girl. She was born Feb 13 2014- now 3.5 months. So if you have a second little girl, I am recommending the name Amelie. It means industrious or hard-working, but I only chose it only because I thought it sounds so beautiful. Grace because even though she died before we got to say Hello, she was and is a gift we never deserved whom we look forward to spending eternity with. We so look forward to introducing our Cora to her sister, and meeting your sweet Cora. Al this to say, if you have another daughter and like the name Amelie, we’d be honoured for you to use it. Praying your pregnancy and labour go smoothly.ReplyCancel

  • Frankie Wofford - Love the name Nora, May be too close to your sweet Cora’s name. But I think it’s a beautiful name.ReplyCancel
