christmas recap (the last one!)

Okay, this is the last of the Christmas posts…I promise.

This one was just too cute not to include. We celebrated our little family Christmas a few days after our three days of family Christmases. Honestly, we were kind of Christmased-out by this time and it was hard to even find time to squeeze it in. I want to plan this better next year.

This was the scene right before the adorable picture. One boy patiently waiting. One boy done with picture taking and needing some sleep.

The boys got keys and chapstick in their stockings. They would have been happy just with that. It’s the small things sometimes, right?

But we got them some trains and train tracks to add to the ones they already have.

I found the Thomas engines on eBay. Such a good deal! They were so excited when they opened them.

They each got a few engines and then we gave them more tracks to share.

We have been building and rebuilding train tracks ever since.

A fun little celebration with just us. I wish I would have taken a family picture that night…next year…so crazy to think there will be one more of us!

And that’s a wrap for Christmas 2013.

  • gin - total sweetness! and precious memories. I missed our family picture this Christmas too. I actually forgot about it while everyone was there. I had so much excitement with 2 18 month old grandbabies, that I forgot a lot of stuff that day. It was all about the little ones for sure. And, of course, Jesus.ReplyCancel

  • Brady Wilhelm - Loved all your Christmas updates! Hope you’re buying hair bows and tutus next year in addition to the trains! I know everyone says they don’t care as long as the baby’s healthy…..but I’m totally keeping my fingers crossed for a girl! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Jaclin - My boys are 14 1/2, 8, and 6 1/2 and they all loved Thomas. Our Thomas set has been out in our house for 12 years. He was so well loved, the memories I have of Thomas videos, getting new cars, tracks and buildings, playing Thomas for hours on end, train rides on the real Thomas, and taking apart/rebuilding different tracks with my boys are some of my greatest memories. Sadly, just this past Christmas I sat on our toy room floor crying as I disassembled our Thomas. He sat, unused, for several months and I knew the day was coming, but I just couldn’t bear to take it down. Christmas morning my 8 year old received an Atlas N Scale electric train, and it needed a place to go. With a broken heart I packed away our Thomas, leaving out Sir Topham Hat, Thomas, Percy, and our covered bridge, which I set on their shelf for display. It is one toy that will stay in my house always, my grandchildren can play with him when they come to visit. Enjoy these moments, they are some of the greatest, and they are over in the blink of an eye.ReplyCancel
